We are looking for a passionate and motivated German language teacher assistant to join our team in the upcoming academic year. To undertake work/care/support programmers to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. To work under the instruction/guidance of senior/teaching staff to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and to help raise standards of achievement for all pupils.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Few hours of Teaching German Language 
• Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils 
• Supporting pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities 
• Preparing the classroom for lessons 
• Tidying up and keeping the classroom in good order 
• Creating displays of pupils’ work 
• Helping on school outings or at school events 
• To develop a knowledge of a range of learning support needs and to develop an understanding of the specific needs of the pupils to be supported; 
• clarifying and explaining instructions; 
• assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes; 
• Providing support for individual children inside and outside the classroom to enable them to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. 
• To provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher; 
• Assist with the class teacher (and other professionals as appropriate), in the development and planning of a suitable programme of support for pupils; 
• Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching 
• Works with the teacher in developing, in accordance with school guidelines, reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied. 
• Works with the teacher in taking necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. 
• Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school. 
• All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified or licensed Teacher;
• Strong curriculum understanding;
• Strong subject area knowledge;
• A ‘can do’ approach to work and a strong work ethic;
• Minimum 2 years classroom/teaching experience;
• A good command of spoken and written English German;
• Understanding of child safeguarding obligations;
• Supports and promotes the ABC ethos of child-centered education without compromising our academic performance;
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents and students;
• The ability to motivate and inspire students from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds;
• Growth mindset;
• ICT literacy
