Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Department in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all metal construction activities.
- Ensure projects are executed in line with approved designs, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Act as Department Head in their absence, with full operational authority.
- Oversee fabrication, erection, and installation works for metal structures.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors.
- Review engineering drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to engineering and site teams.
- Ensure implementation of quality management systems and inspection plans.
- Address non-conformities and drive continuous improvement in workmanship and processes.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams and external inspectors as required.
- Enforce HSE policies and safe working practices across all department activities.
- Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- Promote a strong safety culture within workshops and construction sites.
- Assist in manpower planning, skills allocation, and productivity optimization.
- Oversee use and maintenance of equipment, tools, and fabrication facilities.
- Support procurement planning for materials and subcontracted services.
