General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HVAC detailing, fabrication, or shop drawing review.
  • Experience in oil & gas, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, duct fabrication, and installation processes.
  • Proven experience in reviewing HVAC detail and fabrication/shop drawings.
  • Technical understanding of ducting systems, fittings, dampers, supports, and hangers.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal works and HVAC installation standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and BIM coordination is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Familiar with SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO standards, and project QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to review technical documentation, revision history, and material specifications.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under project deadlines and pressure.
  • Good command of English (required); knowledge of Azerbaijani is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify HVAC detail and fabrication drawings prior to release for construction/fabrication.
  • Check ducting systems, fittings, reducers, transitions, dampers, access doors, supports, and hangers.
  • Verify steel/bulkhead penetration details, equipment connection details, and insulation clearances.
  • Ensure accuracy of flanges, joints, and sheet metal development details.
  • Review HVAC skid/module drawings and standard drawings.
  • Compare drawings against design GA drawings and ducting layouts.
  • Verify dimensions, elevations, duct sizes, airflow direction, routing, and coordination points.
  • Check accuracy of BOM (Bill of Materials) and material take-off data.
  • Evaluate fabrication tolerances, constructability, and installation accessibility.
  • Identify and report clashes and interferences.
  • Ensure multidisciplinary coordination before drawing release.
  • Review drawing numbering, revision history, notes, legends, welding symbols, and material specifications.
  • Track and manage design changes and revisions (MOC).
  • Ensure client/design consultant comments are incorporated into revised drawings.
  • Ensure superseded drawings are withdrawn from fabrication and site use.
  • Provide technical support to fabrication and shop teams.
  • Assist site teams during installation and resolve technical issues.
  • Review red-line markups and as-built drawings.
  • Participate in technical discussions and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure all HVAC documentation is prepared accurately and on time.
  • Comply with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), fire safety, and electrical safety regulations and procedures.
