About the role:

  • Bahar Energy Operating Company (BEOC), a SOCAR Group entity, is seeking a Subsea Pipeline Engineer to support the engineering, integrity, and lifecycle management of subsea pipelines and associated facilities for offshore Oil & Gas operations in the Caspian Sea. This role is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective subsea pipeline solutions across all phases of the project lifecycle, including concept development, FEED, detailed design, installation support, operation, and integrity management.

Key accountabilities:

  • Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering for subsea pipelines, risers, and associated subsea structures in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct pipeline route selection, alignment sheet development, and seabed interaction assessments considering geotechnical, environmental, and installation constraints.
  • Perform subsea pipeline design calculations including wall thickness, on-bottom stability, expansion, buckling, free span assessment, and fatigue analysis.
  • Support material selection, corrosion protection strategies (coatings and cathodic protection systems), and relevant flow assurance considerations.
  • Prepare, review, and verify engineering deliverables including design reports, specifications, datasheets, installation procedures, and as-built documentation.
  • Interface with installation contractors during fabrication, transportation, and offshore installation activities.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and technical risk assessments related to subsea pipeline systems.
  • Support subsea pipeline integrity management, inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) activities throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Ensure full compliance with company HSE requirements, applicable international standards (DNV, ISO, API), and regulatory obligations.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (a Master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in subsea pipeline engineering for offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Strong knowledge of subsea pipeline design codes, standards, and recommended practices.
  • Experience with subsea installation methods (S-lay, J-lay, reel-lay) and associated engineering considerations.
  • Familiarity with pipeline integrity management, corrosion control, and inspection methodologies.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
