About the role:

Bahar Energy Operating Company (BEOC), a SOCAR Group entity, is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, engineering, and execution of key redevelopment and operational projects across the company’s offshore and onshore assets. This role ensures engineering quality, supports project coordination across disciplines, and contributes to safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery. The Project Engineer will work closely with design, construction, operations, and HSE teams to help achieve project objectives and long-term field development goals.

Key accountabilities:

• Support project engineering activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and design reviews.
• Ensure engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications, calculations, procedures) meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to project execution throughout all phases, from concept to commissioning.
• Identify engineering and project risks, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure safe and reliable outcomes.
• Collaborate with operations, drilling, platforms, subsea, facilities, HSE, and supply chain teams to support seamless project integration.
• Assist in the preparation of tender packages, technical evaluations, and contractor performance tracking.
• Support management of change (MoC) processes, ensuring proper documentation and engineering justification.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and readiness assessments to verify compliance and construction quality.
• Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within project teams.
• Prepare technical reports, project updates and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of project engineering experience in the oil & gas, energy, or related industrial sector.
• Understanding of engineering design practices, industry codes, and standards (API, ASME, IEC, etc.).
• Experience supporting multi-disciplinary project delivery in onshore and/or offshore environments.
• Knowledge of project planning, cost control, procurement processes, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project-related business systems.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Professional certifications such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, APM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Additional training in leadership, contract management, or risk analysis is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities; experience in multicultural teams is a plus.
