About the Role
- The Baku Stock Exchange is seeking a skilled System Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. This role covers Linux and Windows servers, virtualization platforms, databases, web servers, and core network services. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu) and Windows Server 2019+ environments
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and File/Print services
- Monitor system performance, apply updates and patches, and troubleshoot OS-level issues
- Administer VMware ESXi / vCenter or Proxmox environments, including VM creation, storage, and networking
- Ensure efficient resource utilization and implement backup and recovery strategies
- Manage Veeam Backup & Replication for virtual machines, physical servers, and key applications
- Maintain backup schedules, replication plans, and disaster recovery procedures
- Regularly test backup integrity and restore functionality
- Administer and maintain HPE Data Storage systems (HPE MSA)
- Configure LUNs, access controls, and monitor storage performance and capacity
- Install, configure, and maintain Mail servers (MDaemon / Microsoft Exchange)
- Manage domains, user mailboxes, aliases, and email security policies (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Deploy and maintain web servers (Apache, Nginx) and ensure high availability
- Perform basic DBA tasks (backup, restore, tuning, and user management) for PostgreSQL and MSSQL databases
- Configure and maintain VLANs, routing, firewalls, and VPNs
- Support and manage VoIP systems (Yeastar / Asterisk), including SIP trunks and call routing Security & Monitoring
- Implement security best practices and manage user access controls
- Use monitoring tools (Zabbix / Grafana) to ensure system uptime and performance
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and incidents
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal users
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT infrastructure role
- Strong knowledge of Linux (Red Hat) and Windows Server administration
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi / Proxmox
- Basic understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL)
- Experience managing web servers (Apache, Nginx)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with VoIP technologies (SIP, PBX, call routing)
- Preferred Skills
- Scripting and automation using Bash or PowerShell
- Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure)
- Understanding of ITIL processes or similar frameworks
