Job Summary
- An energy company based in Baku is seeking a Business Development Associate to join its growing corporate development team. The role focuses on supporting investments, strategic partnerships, and expansion initiatives across the energy sector. The selected candidate will be actively involved in financial modeling, valuation, market analysis, and transaction support, including exposure to large-scale and cross-border M&A processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and modeling to support business development initiatives.
- Prepare project briefs, investment memos, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and developments in the energy sector.
- Support due diligence processes for potential investments, partnerships, or M&A opportunities.
- Contribute to structuring and negotiating commercial transactions and financing arrangements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale projects and joint ventures.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with partners, advisors, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or related field (Master’s a plus).
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, corporate banking, consulting or advisory.
- Familiarity with energy markets and project finance preferred.
Technical & Commercial Skills
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence capabilities
- Knowledge of financing structures, M&A, and capital markets
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Bloomberg Terminal and comparable financial research and due diligence platforms is a plus.
- Experience analyzing companies, projects, and transactions, particularly in the energy sector
- Ability to prepare clear briefs, presentations, and support deal structuring and negotiations

- Advisory/consulting background is a plus.
