Minimum Requirements

Leadership Experience 

• At least 2 + years in a Team Lead, Engineering Manager, or comparable leadership role, directly overseeing DevOps or SRE teams.
• Proven track record of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering groups.

Language Proficiency 

• Fluent English (written & spoken).
• Fluent Russian (written & spoken).
• Fluent Azerbaijani (written & spoken).

Technical Expertise 

• 6 + years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD).
• Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize).
• Strong background in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CDK, or similar).
• Expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/on-prem environments.
• Solid grasp of networking, security hardening, and compliance best practices (ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks).

Systems & Observability 

• Experience designing scalable, highly available architectures.
• Proficiency with monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry).
• Incident-response leadership, including post-mortem facilitation and continuous improvement.

Automation & Scripting 

• Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Python, Go, or PowerShell) for tooling and workflow automation.
• Commitment to “Everything as Code” culture, with demonstrable automation of repeatable processes.

Process & Governance 

• Hands-on experience implementing DevOps best practices: GitOps, trunk-based development, blue/green & canary deployments.
• Familiarity with agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) and ITIL or SRE frameworks (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
• Budgeting, vendor evaluation, and cost-optimization skills for cloud and tooling spend.

Soft Skills 

• Excellent cross-functional communication; able to collaborate with Product, Security, and Executive stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
• Strong problem-solving orientation, driving root-cause analysis and preventive actions.

Education & Certification (Preferred) 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CKA/CKAD, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional DevOps Engineer, PMP/Scrum Master) are an advantage.

• Define and execute the DevOps vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to company objectives.
• Lead, inspire, and grow a multicultural DevOps team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Own end-to-end uptime, performance, and scalability of production services.
• Champion automation and standardization across build, release, and infrastructure workflows.
• Partner with Security to ensure infrastructure and applications meet compliance requirements.
• Report on operational metrics, efficiency gains, and cost management to senior leadership.
