Job Summary:

An international technology and analytics company specializing in AI-powered solutions for the energy sector is seeking an experienced Head of Strategic Business Support Department. This critical role will serve as a central link between the local entity and headquarters, ensuring the company’s performance aligns with overall strategic objectives, while overseeing government relations and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the key liaison between the General Manager’s Office, Legal & Compliance, and Shareholders’ Office, ensuring effective information flow and alignment with headquarters
  • Lead strategic planning processes and facilitate company-wide performance evaluations, ensuring consistency with shareholder expectations and corporate goals
  • Engage with the Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and internal experts to address operational challenges, drive growth, and uphold governance standards
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the General Manager and board members to enable effective decision-making and successful project delivery
  • Implement and monitor departmental OKRs in line with the company’s strategic direction
  • Oversee legal, compliance, security, and audit functions to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
  • Act as a communication bridge between the shareholder and the General Manager, ensuring clear, timely, and consistent communication across all executive and governance structures

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree, such as an MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in business development, strategy, or corporate governance
  • Experience in legal, compliance, or internal audit is considered an advantage
  • Demonstrated success in managing performance evaluations and implementing quality management systems (e.g., ISO, QMS)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani and English (spoken and written); knowledge of Russian or other regional languages is a plus
