About the role
- A valet attendant, also known as a valet hiker, plays a crucial role in providing convenient and efficient parking services for guests at hotels, restaurants, or event venues. Their responsibilities typically include greeting guests, safely parking and retrieving vehicles, and assisting guests with luggage or belongings as needed. Valet attendants must possess strong customer service skills, including clear communication and a friendly demeanor, to ensure positive interactions with guests. They also require excellent driving skills and knowledge of parking procedures to maneuver vehicles safely in parking areas. Additionally, valet attendants should prioritize guest safety and adhere to traffic laws and parking regulations. Overall, valet attendants contribute to enhancing the guest experience by providing seamless and hassle-free parking services.
What you will do
- Greet all guests and visitors courteously upon arrival and departure.
- Open vehicle doors, assist guests with luggage, and provide directions or assistance as needed.
- Park and retrieve guest vehicles promptly, safely, and in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle details and keys.
- Ensure the driveway and entrance areas are always clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and directions when requested.
- Communicate effectively with the Front Desk, Concierge, and Bell Services teams to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures.
- Handle all guest vehicles with utmost care, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Report any vehicle damage or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
- Support other Guest Services functions when required.
What you bring
- Proficiency in operating a variety of vehicles, including automatic and manual transmissions, and maneuvering them safely in tight parking spaces and crowded areas.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws, parking regulations, and safety protocols to ensure compliance while operating vehicles and parking them in designated areas.
- Strong interpersonal skills to greet guests warmly, assist with luggage or belongings, and provide clear and courteous communication during guest interactions.
- Knowledge of local streets, routes, and landmarks to efficiently navigate to and from parking areas and destinations while minimizing travel time.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail when recording vehicle information, such as license plate numbers, vehicle descriptions, and any existing damages, to ensure accurate documentation and prevent misunderstandings.
