Job Opportunity:
Junior Settlement Specialist We are seeking a dedicated Junior Settlement Specialist for a role with flexible shift options aligned with either the UK or Canadian time zones. This position requires adaptability to work during non-standard hours, with the company covering taxi fares for late-night shifts.
Shift Options:
UK Schedule:
Working Hours: 12:00 am to 9:00 pm (Baku Time) Be prepared for early morning starts and evening work, aligning with UK business hours.
Canadian Schedule:
- Working Hours: 5:00 pm to 2:00 am (Baku Time) This schedule is ideal for those who prefer working in the evening and night hours, aligning with Canadian business hours.
- There is one day off per week. (Sunday)
- The salary is up to 2000 AZN depending on your experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily settlement processes for various financial transactions, including payments and banking settlements.
- Reconcile transactional data to ensure accuracy and completeness, investigating and resolving any discrepancies. Monitor settlement systems and processes to identify and address any issues or delays promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, operations, and compliance, to streamline settlement processes and resolve complex settlement-related matters.
- Communicate effectively with external counterparties, such as banks, clearinghouses, and payment processors, to facilitate timely settlements and resolve settlement-related inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to settlement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance settlement efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates on settlement activities and performance metrics to stakeholders. Fulfillment of clearing of correspondent account balances and wire transfers.
- Execution of other works in order to follow the instructions of the department director in accordance with departmental procedures Management of investigations related to incoming/outgoing transfers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (up to 5 years) in settlement operations within the financial services industry, preferably in a fintech or banking environment.
- In-depth understanding of settlement processes, including payment systems, clearing and settlement mechanisms, and reconciliation procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve settlement-related issues efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling large volumes of transaction data.
- Proficiency in using settlement systems and software, as well as Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and communicate with external counterparties professionally.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing settlement activities, such as payment system rules.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to changes in technology and industry practices.
