Responsibilities:
- Design optical networks to optimize wavelength usage and capacity.
- Plan wavelength allocation and channel configurations.
- Deploy equipment, including multiplexers, transponders, amplifiers, and optical line terminals.
- Configure DWDM systems to meet network requirements.
- Integrate equipment with existing optical networks and infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance on optical equipments to ensure network stability.
- Document lessons learned during troubleshooting for future reference
- Work closely with other network engineers, vendors, and support teams for escalations.
- Coordinate with field engineers for on-site inspections or repairs.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of optical communication principles (e.g., wavelength multiplexing, dispersion).
- Familiarity with fiber optic transmission and troubleshooting tools like OTDR, OSA, and power meters.
- Knowledge of DWDM networks architecture and optical network design tools.
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Optical Communications, or a related field. (internship)
