A leading industrial group in Azerbaijan is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to oversee all procurement and supply-chain activities for a major capital project — a large-scale industrial facility in Baku.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a procurement professional with deep EPC / EPCM project experience, ideally in the mining, processing, or metallurgical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the procurement and supply-chain strategy for large-scale capital projects
- Oversee procurement phases — from design and engineering to construction and operations
- Lead global sourcing, vendor qualification, and contract negotiation for key equipment and services
- Manage risk, budgets, and supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery
- Build and mentor a high-performing procurement team aligned with project and corporate goals
Requirements
- 10–19+ years of progressive procurement experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role on major industrial projects
- Proven track record in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) or EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) environments, handling complex, multi-package procurement
- Experience collaborating with international licensors or suppliers (e.g., Tenova, Midrex)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management
- Fluency in English; Azerbaijani, Russian, or another international language is an advantage
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills
