LV Logistics is seeking an experienced Project Forwarding Manager to join our team in Azerbaijan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the project forwarding department, ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Manage and coordinate the transportation of goods by sea, land, or rail, ensuring optimal routing, shipping methods, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure all forwarding operations meet customer requirements, legal standards, and company policies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external service providers, including freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with external vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and high service quality.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of third-party logistics providers to ensure that service levels are met.
• Implement and optimize forwarding processes and procedures to improve overall efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize transportation costs.
• Identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement in the logistics and forwarding operations and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with industry trends and innovations, applying relevant changes to improve operations.
• Ensure that all forwarding activities comply with local and international regulations, including customs, trade laws, and environmental standards.
• Implement and manage risk mitigation strategies for the forwarding function, ensuring that potential disruptions are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
• Monitor the regulatory landscape to ensure the forwarding operations remain compliant with any changes in laws or regulations.
• Lead and supervise a team of forwarding staff, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
• Set clear performance targets, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure the team achieves both individual and departmental objectives.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment to encourage team engagement and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, addressing their forwarding needs and resolving issues promptly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction with logistics services.
• Work closely with sales and customer service teams to understand client requirements and provide tailored forwarding solutions.
• Manage the forwarding budget, ensuring that costs are controlled, and operations are profitable.
• Analyse costs and optimize spending by identifying areas where efficiencies can be gained.
• Ensure that all operations are completed within budget and on time, minimizing delays and unexpected costs.
• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate documentation for all shipments, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and other necessary paperwork.
• Generate regular reports on forwarding operations, providing insights into performance, trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure the timely and accurate filing of documents to comply with legal and company requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• At least 5 years of extensive managerial/team lead experience in freight forwarding company is a must
• Strong knowledge of project logistics, customs, and transportation.
• Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Azeri, English and Russian.
• PMP, CSCP, or similar.
