Data Governance Lead

PASHA Holding invites candidates to fill the position of Data Governance Lead. This is a role within the Chief Data Office focused on unlocking the potential of data for PASHA Group, to realize tangible value. As part of the Chief Data Office and as an enterprise Data Governance Lead you will play a critical part in the stewardship of the organization's data assets. Focused on enhancing data quality and accessibility, the role involves leading initiatives to build self-service capabilities for cross-company data sharing, driving data quality improvement programs, and ensuring the adherence to data management standards and policies. This role is pivotal in facilitating effective data governance frameworks that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency across the group.

Job description:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of self-service tools and platforms for data sharing across the company, ensuring ease of access while maintaining data quality and time to data.
  • Initiate and manage a comprehensive Data Quality Improvement Program aimed at enhancing the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across all business units. Define metrics and KPIs to measure data quality and program effectiveness.
  • Continue to maintain and update data governance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with evolving business needs. Ensure that these guidelines are practical, clear, and enforceable. 
  • Work closely with Holding’s Strategic Assets and PASHA Holding functions to embed data governance practices into daily operations. Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure alignment with the data governance framework and objectives;
  • Enhance and maintain a data governance performance evaluation mechanism. Regularly generate reports to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and communicate findings and recommendations to senior management. Escalate potential issues as necessary.
  • Promote data governance best practices across the organization through training sessions, workshops, and ongoing support. Ensure that all stakeholders are aware of their roles and responsibilities within the data governance framework.

Experience, Competencies and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role, with a focus on data quality, self-service analytics, and data sharing initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • 5+ years of experience within change management, project management, business analytics or similar with passion for learning something new;
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills. Ability to effectively direct and upskill junior members of the team;
  • Clear, concise communications and being able to translate technical jargon into business understandings;
  • Drive project decisions and navigate issues across multiple teams.

Experience, Competencies and Skills Good to have:

  • Experience with data governance tools and software.
  • Project management certification or experience.
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani, English and Russian.
