We are currently looking for a “Data Governance Senior Specialist” to join our team.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead the development and rollout of self-service data discovery and acquisition capabilities, including data marketplace tools, data platform tools and processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for self-service enablement initiatives across the Holding companies.
• Collaborate with asset-level data leads stakeholders to ensure adoption, quality, and usability of self-service tools and data products.
• Define and implement governance standards to streamline and automate cross-company data sharing processes.
• Coordinate with data teams in Holding companies to ensure effective and consistent execution of cross-entity data governance projects.
• Drive the standardization of data governance practices across companies to enhance interoperability and efficiency.
• Contribute to the execution of data maturity assessments and the continuous enhancement of the maturity assessment framework.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to standardize governance processes, implement scalable solutions, and develop associated training and communication materials.
• Provide expert guidance on data catalog, self-service models, and cross-company sharing policies.
• Maintain strong alignment with key stakeholders and ensure regular, timely communication with both internal and external teams.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and working group meetings; translate outcomes into actionable workflows, standards, and requirements.
• Monitor and report on KPIs related to self-service adoption and data governance effectiveness; escalate risks and blockers to the Head of Data Governance.
• Prepare high-quality visualizations and reports to showcase initiative progress and business impact.

Experience, Competencies and Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 6-7 years of total work experience, with 3-4 years in a similar function.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Azerbaijani, and Russian.
• Experience with business process design and IT Business Analysis.
• Knowledge of Data Governance Policies & Procedures is a plus.
• Familiarity with MS Suite and understanding of the Finance/Insurance market is preferable.
