Position: QA/QC / Construction Manager

Location: Crescent Offices

 

Technical Supervision & Quality Control

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC / Construction Manager to oversee the quality, technical compliance, and proper execution of construction works across our projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, approved methodologies, applicable construction standards, and project requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering;
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in the construction industry;
  • Practical experience in QA/QC, Technical Supervision, Site Engineering, Site Management, or a similar construction-related role;
  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of general construction methodologies, construction sequences, and site execution processes;
  • Good knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, regulations, and technical requirements;
  • Ability to read, review, and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and other project documentation;
  • Practical knowledge of MARs (Material Approval Requests), Method Statements (MOS/MS), Inspection Requests, ITPs, concealed/hidden works inspection records, and other QA/QC documentation;
  • Ability to verify the compliance of executed works with approved drawings, specifications, methodologies, and applicable standards;
  • Ability to verify actual quantities and dimensions of completed works on site against approved drawings, BOQs, and relevant documentation;
  • Good understanding of construction materials, their approved applications, installation requirements, manufacturers’ recommendations, and relevant technical specifications;
  • Experience in government-funded or public-sector construction projects will be considered an advantage;
  • Willingness and availability to travel to regional project sites and stay outside Baku when required sometime he/she will be stay short time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect construction works to ensure compliance with approved project drawings, technical specifications, Method Statements, applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements;
  • Perform regular site inspections and verify the quality, accuracy, dimensions, and actual quantities of completed construction works;
  • Ensure that works executed on site correspond to the approved design, drawings, technical requirements, and specified materials;
  • Review and verify Material Approval Requests (MARs), material certificates, technical data sheets, manufacturers’ documentation, and other relevant material submittals;
  • Review and verify concealed/hidden works inspection records and acts, ensuring that the documentation accurately reflects the works completed on site;
  • Conduct required inspections before allowing works to proceed to subsequent construction stages;
  • Identify any non-conformities, deviations, defects, or discrepancies and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions;
  • Monitor the quality and technical compliance of works performed by contractors and subcontractors;
  • Verify actual completed quantities against submitted progress reports, measurement sheets, BOQs, and relevant completion documentation;
  • Coordinate with project managers, site teams, designers, contractors, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve technical and quality-related issues;
  • Participate in final inspections and prepare/review snag lists and punch lists, monitoring the rectification and close-out of identified defects;
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, completion, handover, and acceptance processes, where applicable;
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of required QA/QC, as-built, inspection, and handover documentation;

 

 

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Strong practical knowledge of QA/QC and technical supervision procedures;
  • Good understanding of general construction works, including reinforced concrete, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, façade, finishing, and other civil works;
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation;
  • Experience with ITPs, Inspection Requests, Material Inspections, MARs, Method Statements, NCRs, and other QA/QC documentation;
  • Ability to identify workmanship and technical issues directly on site and recommend or coordinate appropriate corrective actions;
  • Ability to verify quantities and measurements of completed works;
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-oriented approach;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Good communication and coordination skills when working with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, designers, and project teams;
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for technical and quality-related decisions within the assigned scope.

Main Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical supervision and quality control throughout the construction process, ensuring that all works are executed in accordance with approved project documentation, technical specifications, approved methodologies, material requirements, applicable construction codes and standards, and required quality levels.

The role will also ensure that the actual scope, quantities, and quality of completed works are accurately verified and that all works are properly inspected, documented, and accepted prior to final project handover.

 

Note: Periodic travel to regions may be required.
