About the Role
- Prime Core Construction is seeking an experienced Finance manager with strong expertise in construction accounting, project cost control, and financial reporting.
- The candidate will also play an important role in supporting and guiding finance staff and participating in department process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full financial lifecycle of construction projects, including high-level job costing, WIP accounting, retention tracking, cash flow management, and progress billings.
- Direct the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, conducting deep-dive variance, margin, and cost-to-complete analyses.
- Manage overarching project budgets, corporate forecasts, and financial planning in alignment with company goals.
- Review and approve complex BOQs, interim payment certificates (IPCs), and contractual change orders to ensure financial and commercial accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Directors to optimize cost allocation and resource management across active sites.
- Ensure strict VAT and tax compliance; lead the department through internal and external statutory audits.
- Drive the efficient use of construction ERP systems (COINS, SAP, Oracle, Primavera) and ensure data integrity across financial modules.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing hands-on supervision, technical guidance, and professional development for team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5-6 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3-4 years specifically within the construction or infrastructure industry in a senior or managerial role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction accounting practices and financial controls.
- Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and major construction ERP systems.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record of guiding and developing finance staff; strong teamwork mindset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience managing finances for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS 15 (construction contracts revenue recognition).
- Active professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
