Responsibilities
- Assess cotton quality impact before vs. after ginning (turnout, trash, neps, short fiber, contamination risk, moisture handling, bale consistency)
- Review ginning line performance and condition (seed cotton handling, pre-cleaning, ginning, lint cleaning, bale press, conveying, automation)
- Evaluate machinery suitability + build/manufacturing standards (maintenance practices, wear/tear, bottlenecks, safety/compliance)
- Link technical findings to commercial value (quality premiums/discounts, loss points, efficiency, energy use, cost per bale)
- Deliver a clear improvement roadmap: efficiency gains, quality uplift, yield recovery, and capex/opex prioritization.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in cotton ginning operations and technology
- Strong command of cotton quality parameters and testing methods (e.g., HVI and practical mill/merchant requirements)
- Proven ability to assess machinery and performance and translate it into commercial outcomes
- A track record of producing objective, defensible reports (not opinions)
- Act as a freelance or independent consultant, maintaining objectivity and professional standards throughout the engagement
- Primarily perform analysis and reporting remotely, leveraging data and virtual collaboration tools
- Conduct on-site factory visits in Azerbaijan as required to validate findings, inspect machinery, and evaluate operational processes
