Role Summary:
- This role supports primary students’ learning by fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment aligned with the IB PYP philosophy. It involves working closely with teachers, students, and parents to promote inquiry-based learning, student development, and strong communication.
Our Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or Foreign Languages (English Language Teaching) is required.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Previous experience working with primary school students is required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development.
- Strong commitment to the values, philosophy, and principles of the IB PYP programme.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to foster a supportive, inclusive, and inquiry-driven learning environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the homeroom teacher in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources;
- Support classroom management by reinforcing rules, routines, and expectations.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed;
- Collaborate with the homeroom teacher to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs;
- Offer support to students with diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds;
- Assist in the administration of assessments and assignments;
- Provide feedback to students on their work, helping them understand and address areas for improvement;
- Collaborate with the homeroom teacher to document student progress;
- Support language development and literacy activities as directed by the homeroom teacher;
- Encourage reading and writing skills through guided activities and independent practice;
- Assist in language acquisition for students with diverse language backgrounds;
- Collaborate closely with the homeroom teacher and specialist teachers to integrate subject areas and transdisciplinary themes;
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of units of inquiry, incorporating unique expertise and perspective;
- Provide guidance and redirection for students exhibiting challenging behavior;
- Work with students on conflict resolution and social skills;
- Be aware of and respond to medical needs or emergencies as directed by school policies;
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to the IB PYP framework and best practices in education.
