Role Synopsis:
- A System Administrator is a specialized IT professional responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of an organization's IT infrastructure. This role encompasses the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of operating systems, servers, network devices, and applications to support business operations effectively.
Key Accountabilities:
- System Management: Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, IIS, File Server, Group Policy) and Linux-based systems (CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Virtualization Infrastructure: Design, implement, and optimize virtualization solutions using VMware technologies (ESXi, vCenter).
- Cloud Services Administration: Manage Microsoft 365 Admin Center for user lifecycle management, licensing, and service configurations.
- Server Migration: Execute server migration projects (physical and virtual) with a focus on minimal downtime and full data integrity.
- Web Server Configuration: Configure and maintain web servers such as Nginx, ensuring reliable and secure hosting environments.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Database Administration: Administer and tune database systems, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL, for reliability and performance.
- Telecommunication Systems: Manage and support VoIP/IP telephony systems, primarily 3CX, ensuring seamless communication infrastructure.
- System Monitoring and Security: Monitor overall system health, apply regular updates and patches, and enforce security best practices.
- Collaboration and Troubleshooting: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and drive infrastructure improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in system administration, virtualization, and telephony.
Required background:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in system administration or a related technical role.
- Proficiency in Windows Server (2019/2022/2025) and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu) operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization platforms (ESXi, vCenter).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin Center and related services.
- Experience with backup solutions, preferably Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Experience with VoIP/IP telephony systems, such as 3CX.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and security practices.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell scripting).
- Knowledge of database management systems, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL
