Job Description

The Subsurface Manager is responsible for petroleum engineering and subsurface related functions of an asset to ensure effective reserves development and recovery managing the full delivery of the Field development plan, overseeing the management of production for a field, and identifying ways to extract more. This role requires a multidisciplinary approach, must integrate various expertise to ensure the success of the operation. The manager needs a full understanding framework of the reservoir, Identifying and planning locations, interpreting data to define the structure, analyzing data for properties, and predicting production potential using simulations to analyze field behavior.

Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well both independently and in a team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities in production, reservoir or exploitation related engineering, geology and geophysics applications, specifically subsurface characterization for asset evaluation.
  • Serve as technical lead for the conceptual design of drilling, completion, reservoir and production engineering feasibility and proposal planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in subsurface, reservoir, or geoscience roles within the oil and gas industry. 
  • Strong background in reservoir engineering or geoscience with experience across both project and operational environments. 
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams. 
  • Ability to integrate Field Development Plans and influence internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) experience is an advantage. 
  • Fluent in English.
