POSITION DETAILS 

• Title: Production Planning Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products with planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay, take a role in production scheduling and determining raw materials in order to maintain continuous production activities.

JOB DUTIES:

• Work with Manager to plan and coordinate production schedules. Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet fabrication / shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
• Review production specifications and identify and report plant capacity constraints
• Resolve manpower and material shortage problems in a timely manner
• Monitor workflow and schedules to ensure on-time delivery and do-ability within budget
• Ensure that materials and equipment are prearranged for production
• Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
• Coordinate with Manager to develop and execute production plan/schedule
• Work with Managers to develop potential solutions to improve production performance
• Develop effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives
• Analyze and address production issues in a timely fashion
• Coordinate with production, purchasing and finance teams to develop and maintain scheduling parameters
• Order plan and stock adequate materials to avoid any shortages
• Oversee routine equipment maintenances to avoid outages and repairs during production
• Generate production reports (daily, weekly, monthly depending on requirement) to Managers for critical decision-making purposes
• Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
• Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
• Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
• Prepare and submit status and performance reports
• Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff
• Other duties requested by Line Manager
• Create Firmed Material Orders
• Run MRP (Production)
• Capacity Level Check and Feedback Sales Team
• Create Process Order, schedule and release process order
• Review process orders and technical completion of process orders
• Plan production tasks and schedules according to customer orders
• Review production plan with mid Managers for approval
• Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.
• Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations
• Plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excesses
• Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines
• Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences
• Facilitate production meetings

REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2-4 year of experience as a Production Planner
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment/operations
• Proven experience with and a demonstrable knowledge in ERP systems/applications

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Advanced knowledge of Azerbaijani and English
• Knowledge of Russian is an advantage

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Excellent knowledge of production planning and scheduling principles
• Knowledge of Production and Purchasing functions in a Manufacturing Environment. 
• Strong understanding of entire flow of production/manufacturing process and related functions
• Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) principles

EQUPMENT SKILLS:

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications 
• Experience with office equipment 
• Strong working knowledge of SAP will be an advantage

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any technical field;
• Acquired APICS CPIM Training & Exam is preferable
• Production Management
