Main job responsibilities:

  • Analyze Annual Work Plan and Budget document (AWP&B) received from Operating Companies (OC);
  • Engage Asset Managers and technical personnel (drilling, production, operation, etc.) of SOCAR Upstream Management International LLC (SUMI) as needed, and conduct internal discussions;
  • Organize meetings and discussions with relevant representatives of the OCs to discuss budget expense items before Management and Steering Committee meetings. 
  • Represent SUMI in Finance, Technical, Management and Steering Committees.
  • Upon approval of the budget, ensure control over its execution, oversee the economical expenditure of budget funds during the execution of the budget, prevent waste in the procurement of goods and services, and assist in optimizing expenses;
  • Conduct comparative analysis and evaluation of the quarterly, semi-annual and annual forecasts and actual figures and KPIs of the OCs;
  • Prepare relevant reports related to financial performance of the OCs and present to the Management;
  • Take active part in preparation of Annual Budget of SUMI, discussion of the budget with Management and submission of final version to the Steering Committee.’
  • Conduct comparative analysis of the monthly and quarterly Plan, Actual and Forecast indicators of SUMI and present to the Management.
  • Respond all relevant inquiries received by the Group Leader, SUMI Management and Head Office in a timely manner.

Job requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Master`s Degree is advantage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Work experience min. 3 years in relevant field.
  • Fluent in English and Azeri.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in Oil and Gas Sector.
  • General understanding of Profit Sharing Agreement provisions in Oil and Gas Sector is an advantage.                                                                                                          
  • Project Management skills is desirable.
  • Attention-to-details and good analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed, organized manner
  • Desire for continuous improvement. 
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and ability to work in a team.
