We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Reservoir Engineer to join our Subsurface Technical Team at SUMI. The successful candidate will play a key role in reservoir management, field development planning, monitoring and production optimization. This position requires expertise in reservoir engineering principles, data integration, and technical decision-making to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and field performance optimization.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and analyze key production and performance indicators, including well rates, pressure behavior, and fluid movement, to evaluate reservoir performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Conduct reservoir performance analysis, decline curve analysis, material balance calculations, and production forecasting to optimize field development strategies.
  • Develop and update dynamic reservoir simulation models to assess reservoir behavior and support decision-making for field development planning
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, petrophysicists, and production engineers
  • Conduct uncertainty analysis, risk assessments, and reserves estimation using industry-standard methodologies.
  • Prepare and present routinely technical progress reports, documentation, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Essential Education:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.

Essential experience and job requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in reservoir engineering, field development, and production optimization within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Nexus, CMG, or similar) and other petroleum engineering applications.
  • Strong understanding of pressure transient analysis, well test interpretation, and production data analysis.
  • Ability to integrate geoscience and engineering data to develop robust reservoir monitoring and management plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Profound communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and digitalization trends in reservoir engineering.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Azerbaijani
