Job overview

  • Head of Quality Management is responsible for leading and managing the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure that all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems, as well as fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s Quality Management System in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA regulations).
  • Ensure that all processes are documented and that quality policies and procedures are followed throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the development and execution of quality assurance processes, including product inspections, testing protocols, and quality audits.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality metrics, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare for and lead internal and external audits, ensuring that any findings are addressed promptly.
  • Lead initiatives to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive quality improvements across the organization.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, supply chain) to promote a culture of quality and ensure alignment on quality objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports on quality performance, including trends, issues, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees on quality standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) – essential for technical documentation and communication. Russian language is an advantage.
