Job overview
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing facility. This role involves managing staff, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and achieving safety compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and optimize production processes to enhance output and reduce waste.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant personnel to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality control measures, conduct regular inspections and address any quality issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget, monitoring expenditures and cost controls.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare reports on production metrics, financial performance, and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align production with company goals.
  • Maintain effective communication with senior management regarding plant performance and challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10 years of leadership and management experience in a manufacturing environment (experience in metal production or processing and/or managing a team of more than 100 people is preferred).Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred skills

  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with budget management and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) – essential for technical documentation and communication. Russian language is an advantage.
