Key details about the role and the candidate

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the maintenance of all Systems & Instrumentation equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and supporting operational goals.
You and the role
We are looking for a knowledgeable System Engineer with a strong background in drilling equipment and automated control systems. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work in an integrated team environment and adapt to the dynamic needs of offshore operations.
Primary responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and overhaul drilling equipment as required.
• Operate and maintain automated control systems effectively.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of Variable Frequency Drive systems.
• Utilize knowledge of HMH/NOV automated drilling systems to support operational requirements.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs in accordance with Group procedures and guidelines.
• Read and interpret Systems & Instrumentation drawings competently.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and tidy working environment, guiding team members in safe working practices.
• Adhere to the Permit-to-Work system and initiate permits as necessary, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience on a drilling rig or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of CMMS (SAP knowledge is advantageous).
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Behaviour and Skills

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing conditions.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Office & Windows mandatory, SAP desirable).
• Valid CompEx certificate is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

• Relevant technical education or recognized industry apprenticeship.
• Strong communication skills and a good safety ethic.
