Position Overview

• Electrical Engineer oversees the design review, coordination, and supervision of electrical systems to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and energy efficiency, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and develop electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and design intent.
• Prepare and review load calculations, equipment selection, cable sizing, and system layouts for power, lighting, ELV, and low-current systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Provide technical input during the tender process, including review of tender documents, technical evaluations, and clarification responses.
• Review contractor material submittals and proposed subcontractors from a technical perspective.
• Assess potential cost and technical impacts related to design development or contractor proposals.
• Coordinate electrical works with other MEP disciplines, architects, and engineers to ensure integrated and clash-free design and execution.
• Monitor day-to-day electrical site activities and oversee contractor performance.
• Review and approve electrical shop drawings and method statements in line with approved designs.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure electrical works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including power, lighting, earthing, and ELV systems.
• Review test results, identify defects, ensure timely corrective actions and snagging closure.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role within construction (preferably in fit-out work) or project-based environments.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with MS. Office, AutoCAD, or Revit.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
