Department: School of Design & Architecture
The School of Design & Architecture at ADA University
The School of Design and Architecture (SDA) is outlined in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano in the framework of the Italy-Azerbaijan University initiative. It offers bachelor's programs in Interior Design, Architecture, Urban Planning and Communication Design. ADA University is
intertwined with the country’s plans, where economic and cultural growth lead the way. The urban areas are growing, and the country landscape and profile are evolving. The School of Design and Architecture will share the polytechnic approach to Design, Architecture, and Urban Planning. Graduates will gain foundational disciplinary knowledge and practical experience, thanks to fundamental courses and the learning-by-doing educational approach that pursues up-to-date development lines in project-based design studios. The School of Design and Architecture offers an international level of study suitable for entering the job market as a junior architect, urban planner, interior or communication designer. Teaching Position Details in Drawing Studio for Interior Design, CAD drawing and illustration
Programme: Bachelor of Interior Design.
Year: 1st
Course: Drawing Studio for Interior Design_CAD drawing and illustration
Semester: First
Start dates: September 2026
General educational objectives
The first drawing studio provides the fundamental knowledge of the main tools and techniques of representation used in interior design, to lead the first-year student to acquire control of drawing as a tool for observation, investigation, and formal research and as a technical-expressive language
of the project and design culture. The studio aims at getting students to know and understand the principles of the different modes of representation for the project, starting from sketching techniques, and the application of the geometric bases of drawing (measurement, proportions, relationships) in the form/structure relationship; to know the tools and methods of 2D and 3D analogue representation as a language for representing ideas and design thought; to control the application of the three projective methods (orthogonal projections, axonometric and perspective); to know and know how to use the digital tools of basic 2D drawing.
Course's Objectives & Expected Learning Outcomes
The studio delves into the use of different graphic techniques of two-dimensional representation (sign, color) about the application of the tools of raster and vector digital graphics to the exercise of technical drawing, in the pursuit of individual recognizability that has characterized the tradition of architectural drawing as a specific genre. The practice of digital graphic techniques in continuity with analog ones improves the graphic control and the quality of the project communication, contributing to the enlargement of the preliminary competencies of the project, in which each work constitutes a complex aesthetic system that requires appropriate ways of communication. In addition, the studio also aims to develop the ability to design the three-dimensional physical model (maquette) as a tool for studying and representing the project about the scale of the realization, the choice of appropriate materials, the elements to be emphasized, the level of abstraction and the overall language of the model, with the refinement of manual dexterity and the ability to process the materials used.
