Reports To: Primary Principal
The European Azerbaijan School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated Primary Years Associate Teacher, who is committed to developing students to their full potential in a supportive, caring environment by integrating into the PYP units of inquiry, helping teachers, etc. Applicants must have a teaching degree that is recognized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education.
Fluent English (B1, B2 levels) speaking and writing skills are a must, as all core subjects are taught in English.
General Description of Position:
- Pay close attention to student's personal needs and implement appropriate individual programs, including issues such as social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare;
 - Guide and assist students by ensuring their safety and learning environment;
 - Establish a good relationship with students by demonstrating exemplary behavior, being aware of their individual needs, and meeting those needs accordingly;
 - Encourage students to interact with others and be involved in teacher-led activities;
 - Encourage students to act independently when needed.
 - Prepare the classroom for the lesson, help clean the classroom after class, and demonstrate students' work;
 - Be aware of the student's problem/development/achievements and inform the teacher about it in an agreed manner;
 - Carry out student registration as required;
 - Assist the teacher in monitoring student behavior and providing information on difficulties as needed;
 - Obtain/provide information from a parent/caregiver in accordance with the instructions;
 - Provide clerical/administrative work, e.g., copying, writing, filling out forms and blanks, etc.
Help students understand the instructions; - Assist students according to local and national learning strategies (e.g., literacy, numeracy, early childhood) under the guidance of a teacher;
 - Help students use ICT if needed;
 - Develop and manage equipment/resources as instructed by the teacher, assisting students in their use.
 - Be aware of and follow child protection, health, safety and protection policies, privacy and information protection, and reporting concerns to the appropriate person;
 - Knowing and supporting students that they are different, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to learn and develop;
 - Contribute to the morale/work/goals of the school as a whole;
 - Attend relevant meetings as required;
 - Participate in training, other training activities, and business development activities as required;
 - Assist students in supervising before, during, and after school hours, including meals;
 - Accompany faculty and students on trips, trips, and extracurricular activities as required.
 
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in primary education;
 - Passion for EAS mission;
 - Interest in the field of education and students’ development;

- Ability to work with or care for children of the appropriate age group;
 - Participate in development and training courses;
 - Ability to communicate well with children and adults;
 - Ability to work in a team, knowing and understanding their role, responsibilities, and their place in the classroom;
 - Responsibility, efficiency, organizational skills, ability to work in tense conditions and resolve conflicts;
 - Ability to work with people of different nationalities;
 - Avoid unpleasant conversations and gossip;
 - Appropriate first aid knowledge;

 - Is on time, punctual to meetings, knows how to manage a schedule, and is organized.
 
Language Skills:
- Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in Azerbaijani and English;
 - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, staff, or members of the community;
 
Computer Skills:
- Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, etc.);
 - Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Word Processing.
