Work Location: Gadabay, Azerbaijan
Work Schedule: 15 working days / 15 rest days
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering;
- 3 – 5 years experience:
- Exceptional organization, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving abilities;
- An ability and desire to travel and work in different locations.
Key Result Areas & Specific Responsibilities for Underground:
- Provide geotechnical input into the mine design, production sequencing, stope design and capital infrastructure excavations
- Maintain optimum development ground control standards including the implementation of sequencing guidelines to permit reliable production access
- Review ground control performance with regard to design, operational practices and design assumptions
- Maintain and optimise hazard management systems
- Maintain effective communication with technical and operational staff as well as ground control contractors
- Analyse and interpret engineering data using appropriate classification and design tools
Key Result Areas & Specific Responsibilities for Open Pit Mine:
- Implementing and improving standards and procedures in respect to ground stability, ground monitoring and control
- Ensuring geotechnical inspections of mining operations are conducted regularly
- Issuing rehabilitation instructions as required to the Mining Contractor
- Assisting Mining Engineers with recommendations on geotechnical issues and providing input for development and production designs
- Supporting Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) and Ground Support Standards (GSS)
- Undertaking ground support audits and providing solutions for addressing issues or concerns
- Monitoring the seismic monitoring system and reporting on any notable events
- Investigating any development or stope failures
- Managing Geotechnical QAQC processes (including pull testing, grout sampling, shotcrete sampling and check scaling)
- Reviewing open pit monitoring data and highlighting any movement
- Assisting with the compilation of the monthly Geotechnical Report
- Carrying out regular Ground Awareness Training sessions for operational personnel
- Actively participating in planning and production meetings
- Assisting in the preparation of the weekly and monthly mining schedules
Other
- When required, act as onsite Occupational First Aid Attendant;
- Participate and contribute in special projects and other related duties as required.
