Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Administrator to take ownership of our IT infrastructure and end-user support. This is a hands-on, senior role for a proactive professional who can translate strategic direction into practical solutions, presenting clear pros and cons with well-reasoned recommendations.
A key objective of the role is to lead the organisation to Cyber Essentials Plus certification within 12 months, while maintaining SOC 2 compliance and supporting future ISO 27001 and GDPR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and achieve Cyber Essentials Plus certification; support SOC 2 and future ISO 27001/GDPR readiness.
- Administer and support the Microsoft 365 and Azure environment, including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage endpoint lifecycle: provisioning, configuration, patching, encryption, and decommissioning.
- Implement and maintain security best practices such as MFA, Conditional Access, BitLocker/FileVault, endpoint protection, and least-privilege access.
- Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support to approximately 60 users across Baku and London.
- Support and maintain office network infrastructure (firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, switching).
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to align endpoint and cloud security.
- Analyse business requirements and present solution options with pros/cons and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation and asset management.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in IT administration or systems engineering in a senior, hands-on role.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune.
- Proven experience with Cyber Essentials Plus and SOC 2 compliance; exposure to ISO 27001 or GDPR is desirable.
- Solid understanding of endpoint security, identity and access management, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience supporting multi-site organisations and remote users.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a strong user-focused approach.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English and Russian required; written English proficiency is advantageous
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, MD-102)
- ITIL Foundation
- Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM
