Direct report - CEO
Position summary
- HSE Engineer is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental standards are met and maintained within the organization.
- This includes developing and implementing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and promoting a safe working environment.
- The HSE Engineer will also provide guidance on environmental protection strategies, conduct safety training programs and investigate incidents to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- The role requires collaboration with various departments to integrate safety and environmental best practices across all operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Ensure all operations adhere to HSE laws and standards, with a focus on maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Provide guidance and support for risk mitigation measures, ensuring a proactive approach to accident prevention.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses and unsafe practices to determine causes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and corrective actions, and communicate these to the management team.
- Organize and conduct training programs for Kinderland employees on HSE policies, safe working practices, emergency procedures, and environmental sustainability.
- Ensure all staff are equipped with the knowledge to contribute to a safe work environment.
- Monitor and manage Company's environmental impact, ensuring adherence to local and international environmental regulations.
- Propose strategies for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and other sustainability initiatives within the company.
- Conduct routine safety audits and site inspections to ensure HSE standards are being maintained.
- Implement corrective actions where necessary and track the resolution of identified issues.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, audits, training, and incident reports.
- Assist in preparing and submitting compliance documentation and reports as required by regulatory bodies.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental practices.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing HSE procedures and systems to ensure the ongoing safety of employees and the environment
Requirements
- Solid understanding of HSE regulations, risk management practices, and environmental sustainability standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and developing safety training programs.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in HSE roles
- FHN, İSO 4500, NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or similar HSE certifications are highly preferred.
