We are expanding our cross-country portfolio function and looking for a senior-level Portfolio Management Lead in Azerbaijan.
You will work directly with the Global Head of Portfolio Management and act as the primary portfolio counterpart for selected entities in Azerbaijan. The role requires a mix of analytical discipline, process thinking, and the ability to have clear, constructive conversations with both business and IT leaders.
About the role
- As Portfolio Management Lead, you will help shape and maintain a multi-entity technology and digital portfolio that makes sense strategically and operationally.
- Your work will span the full lifecycle; from the first time a need appears, through shaping, sequencing and approval, and then into monitoring delivery performance and portfolio health.
- While portfolio management is your home base, you will also touch adjacent processes where portfolio thinking matters: early intake and clarification of new requests, solution shaping, delivery planning, deployment scheduling, vendor interactions and risk/impact assessments.
What you will be doing
Keep the portfolio coherent
- Maintain a clear, continuously updated picture of initiatives across your scope: pipeline, approvals, delivery progress, risks, dependencies and capacity considerations.
Support idea-to-portfolio shaping
- Work with Business Partners and IT leads to clarify new requests, capture essential information and ensure that ideas entering the funnel are frameable, comparable and decision-ready.
Enable better decisions
- Prepare concise, well-structured material for governance forums: options, impacts, timing, constraints and the questions leadership actually needs answered.
Stay involved after approval
- Help ensure that approved items transition cleanly into delivery. Keep an eye on progress, blockers, vendor interactions and sequencing issues that may affect the broader portfolio.
Provide senior-level partnership without being a manager
- Engage directly with business and IT stakeholders (sometimes in sensitive or high-stakes discussions) representing the portfolio perspective with clarity and confidence.
Do the detailed work when needed
- Even as a senior member of the function, you will sometimes prepare drafts, consolidate inputs, clean up lists, or chase missing information. This is a craft role as much as a coordination role.
Contribute to a consistent way of working
- Help refine templates, improve routines and harmonise practices across Türkiye and Azerbaijan so the portfolio function works as a single system, not separate pockets.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, digital transformation, strategy execution or technology consulting.
- Clear understanding of how technology initiatives evolve from request to design, approval, delivery and deployment.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills; comfortable working with structured information, indicators and simple models.
- Ability to communicate with clarity, verbally and in writing, with stakeholders ranging from specialists to senior managers.
- A mindset that blends structure with pragmatism: knowing when to dive deep and when to simplify.
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-country environments is helpful.
- Fluent English and Azerbaijani; Turkish is an advantage.
