Job Description:
- Review project related agreements and contracts and provide relevant analysis where required.
- Negotiate and structure commercial terms in contracts to maximize profitability and minimize risk.
- Oversee the preparation of loan agreements when needed.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental standards, managing risk exposures accordingly, as well as resolve potential contract disputes.
- Work closely with the operators of the Projects, obtain and analyze commercial information.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, investors, partners. Act as the company’s commercial representative in negotiations.
- Provide project updates and commercial analysis to management and key stakeholders ensuring that they are informed of commercial performance.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and industry developments to provide strategic insights and recommendations to relevant decision-makers. Identify commercial opportunities and recommend strategic initiatives to increase revenue. Support project development and execution by ensuring commercial viability and alignment with company goals.
- Participate in the preparation of and verify the accuracy of data provided in the company presentations for various users.
- Oversee the preparation of project payment schedules and relevant backup documentation for the executing the payments.
- Oversee and control the process of invoice verification and handling invoice-related issues.
- Provide proper documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Participate in the compilation of company’s quarterly and annual reports and verify the data presented therein for accuracy.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team, ensuring effective performance and professional growth.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration between commercial, financial, legal and operational teams.
- Perform other work-related duties as required to support business objectives and operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s (preferably Master’s) degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- Managerial experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Understanding of Upstream and Midstream businesses in the oil and gas industry. This includes, but is not limited to, the understanding of Production Sharing Agreements and Host Government Agreements.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Diligence and attentiveness to detail.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, independently and in teams.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Azerbaijani and English (knowledge of additional languages is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (possession of additional computer skills is a plus).
