Salary: 7,000 – 8,000 AZN net

Role Summary:

The Head of Internal Audit will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the internal audit strategy to ensure robust internal controls, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a proactive, analytical, and results-oriented leader with a proven track record in audit leadership, particularly within a Big 4 audit firm environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit strategy and annual audit plan aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Lead and manage the internal audit function, ensuring high standards of professionalism, independence, and objectivity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems, identify control gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of risk management, governance, and control processes.
  • Communicate audit findings and actionable recommendations to senior management and the Board (or Audit Committee).
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of internal audit practices, methodologies, and tools in line with international standards (e.g., IIA Standards).
  • Foster a culture of integrity, compliance, and risk awareness across the organization.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in internal audit, including leadership roles.
  • Mandatory experience within one of the Big 4 audit firms (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte).
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, ACCA, CPA, CA) are highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies, risk assessment, internal control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
  • High ethical standards, with a strong sense of confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability.
