Main responsibilities:
- To develop, implement and maintain Company HSE policies, procedures and programs and ensure they are up to date and complies with Health, Safety & Environmental regulatory requirements.
- To develop applicable company specific legal register, conduct compliance monitoring and develop action plans for non-compliances.
- To carry out periodical inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly adhered to.
- Continuously monitors the work environment, especially for work performed under specific “Permit to work” requirements.
- Communicates appropriate HSE related information on an accurate and timely basis to the work force.
- To conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analysis, and develop mitigation plans to ensure that all risks are identified and mitigated to acceptable limit before any activity commence.
- To develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees. to ensure all staff are aware of and understand HSE policies and procedures and keep up to date with relevant HSE legislation and industry standards.
- To lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, prepares detailed reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence and ensure timely reporting of incidents to relevant authorities.
- To develop and maintain emergency response plans, coordinate regular emergency drills and trainings, ensures emergency equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
- To conduct regular HSE inspections of the building, monitor compliance with HSE policies and regulatory requirements and reports non-compliance to tenant HSE reps.
- To collect and analyze HSE data to identify trends and areas for improvement, use data to report on to company management on planned intervals.
- To lead and manage the HSE team, providing guidance and support, coordinate with other departments to integrate HSE practices into all operations and to promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
- To ensure contractors and vendors comply with HSE requirements, review and approve safety plans for contracted work, monitor contractor performance and address any HSE concerns.
- To develop and implement sustainability initiatives, monitor and manage environmental impacts, such as waste, energy use, and emissions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- To communicate HSE performance, issues, and initiatives to senior management, prepare and present HSE reports and updates.
- Participates in regular HSE meetings with the Contractors and related interested parties with the view to discussing HSE concerns and actions common to all.
- To ensure employees are focused on delivering a safe working environment providing the necessary support and technical advice as required.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree 7+ years of HSE experience and preferable 3+ in managerial/lead positions. Knowledge in local & international HSE laws and regulations.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multinational work environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of HSE best practice in an international context
- Innovative and strategic thinker with evidence of ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in a difficult business and cultural environment
- Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels
- To have experience in ISO, 14001 & 45001 standards
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Azerbaijani languages.
