Position Overview

The MEP Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and reviewing building services systems to ensure efficiency, functionality, and compliance with regulations. This role covers mechanical (HVAC), electrical (power, lighting, and low-voltage), and plumbing (water supply, drainage, fire protection) systems, working closely with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to deliver integrated and sustainable design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop MEP system designs, calculations, and layouts for building and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and reports.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system modeling using relevant software.
• Ensure MEP designs comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and equipment/material selections.
• Coordinate MEP systems with architectural and structural designs to avoid clashes.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize cost, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
• Provide technical support during tendering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to design intent.
• Stay updated with new technologies, sustainable practices, and energy-efficient solutions.

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• Proven experience in MEP design within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in design software.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
