Position Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Training and Development Specialist to design, implement, and oversee employee development programs across the organization. This role plays a key part in building a learning culture, driving performance, and supporting long-term talent needs through succession planning and annual training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular training needs assessments in collaboration with department heads.
- Develop and execute the company’s annual training plan aligned with business goals.
- Maintain training calendars, budgets, and records of all learning activities.
- Design and deliver in-house training sessions or coordinate with external providers.
- Develop onboarding, compliance, technical, and soft skills training programs.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Develop and manage succession plans for key roles across departments.
- Track employee growth and development to maintain strong internal talent pipelines
- Manage digital learning tools or LMS platforms (learning management systems) where applicable.
- Ensure training materials and records are updated and accessible.
- Track training KPIs and prepare regular reports on learning outcomes.
- Analyze trends and recommend improvements to training strategies and delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in training and development or talent management roles.
- Knowledge of training evaluation.
- Strong project management, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Experience with succession planning frameworks and talent reviews.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in using LMS platforms (learning management systems) and digital training tools.
- Industry experience in mining/construction/oil and gas sector is a plus.
