Role synopsis

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in the textile manufacturing company. The goal is to ensure that all processes, systems, and products meet the company's internal standards, customer expectations, and international quality certifications. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for prevention, system governance, and process excellence throughout the value chain, from supplier to customer. This function will work with Production, QC, Planning, Procurement, and Sales to establish a quality culture that meets the best industry practices adopted by leading textile manufacturers.

Key accountabilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and customer- specific requirements.
  • Establish quality policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions across all production units (knitting, weaving, dyeing, cutting, sewing, finishing).
  • Ensure effective document control, version management, and standardization of processes.
  • Lead management reviews related to quality performance and system effectiveness.

Process & Preventive Quality Assurance

  • Define quality standards and acceptance criteria jointly with QC and Production teams.
  • Ensure quality is built into processes rather than inspected at the end.
  • Identify process risks, failure points, and preventive controls using structured methodologies.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for systemic quality issues and ensure robust preventive actions.
  • Support new product, fabric, and process development from a quality assurance perspective.

Audit, Compliance & Certification

  • Plan and lead internal quality audits across all departments.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits (ISO, customer audits, social compliance when linked to quality systems).
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed through effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain audit readiness at all times.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Define quality KPIs and dashboards (defect trends, customer complaints, audit findings, COPQ).
  • Analyze quality data and trends to support management decision-making.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
  • Promote quality awareness and best practices across the organization.

KPIs

  • Effectiveness of Quality Management System (audit results, certification status)
  • Reduction in systemic defects and repeat quality issues
  • Customer complaints, claims, and audit outcomes
  • Supplier quality performance
  • Quality Cost Reduction (Cost of Poor Quality – COPQ)
  • On-time audit readiness and documentation compliance

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Quality Management (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent) is a strong advantage.

Required professional experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in quality roles within textile manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a Quality Assurance or Quality Systems leadership position.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing ISO-based quality systems.
  • Strong exposure to customer audits

Language requirements and proficiency levels

  • Excellent command of Azerbaijani language (written and spoken)
  • Good command of English language (written and spoken)

Working conditions Work schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 (1-hour lunch break)
  • Additional working hours may be required during:
  • External audits and customer visits
  • Quality system rollouts or major improvement projects
  • Critical quality incidents

Work Location

  • Primarily on-site (Sumgayit) at the factory to ensure system effectiveness and cross-functional alignment.
  • Participation in buyer meetings and quality inspections when required
