Main responsibilities:
- Monitoring costs related to transportation, warehousing, inventory management and logistics operations.
- Preparing and managing budgets for logistics departments, ensuring that expenses align with financial goals.
- Handling billing and invoicing related to logistics services, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Generating financial reports that provide insights into logistics costs, performance metrics and profit margins.
- Assessing the value of inventory to determine carrying costs and improve financial planning.
- Ensuring that all logistics accounting practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Analyzing cost data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Reviewing contracts with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to ensure financial compliance and adherence to terms.
- Working closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accuracy in reporting and forecasts.
- Monitoring logistics performance metrics and assessing the financial impact of logistics activities.
- Communicating logistics financial data and insights to management and other stakeholders for informed decision-making.
- Identifying financial risks in logistics operations and implementing strategies to mitigate those risks.
Requirements
- A bachelor/master’s degree in accounting, finance, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding and logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, preferably in service provider side
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures, import/export regulations, and international freight operations
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Experience with ERP systems and logistics management software is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or other relevant accounting certifications.
- Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CLTD - Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution) may be beneficial.
Working conditions:
- Location: Baku city;
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 working days per week;
- Working hours: 2 p.m. – 01 a.m. (at the office and online)
- Lunch time in the office – 1 hour
- Sector: International Logistics of Containers from Country to Country;
