Brief Job Overview: The Guest Booker is responsible for identifying, contacting, and securing guests for our media programs. This role involves researching potential guests, coordinating their participation, and ensuring a smooth experience for both the guest and the production team. The Guest Booker plays a critical role in enhancing the quality and diversity of our programming.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identify potential guests, including experts, celebrities, industry leaders, and interesting personalities relevant to the program’s content.
- Conduct thorough research to ensure guests’ relevance and suitability for the show.
- Contact potential guests via phone, email, or social media to invite them to participate in the program.
- Negotiate appearance details, including availability, topics of discussion, and any special requirements.
- Coordinate all logistical details for guest appearances, including travel arrangements, accommodations, and schedules.
- Ensure guests receive all necessary information about the program, including format, timing, and content focus.
- Prepare guests for their appearance by providing them with relevant background information and briefing materials.
- Conduct pre-interviews if necessary to outline discussion points and ensure the guest is comfortable and well-prepared.
- Act as the primary point of contact for guests before, during, and after their appearance. - Ensure a positive experience for guests, addressing any concerns and facilitating smooth participation.
- Work closely with producers, hosts, and other team members to align guest bookings with the program’s editorial goals and themes.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide input on potential guest segments.
- Maintain relationships with past guests and leverage those connections for future bookings.
- Collect and incorporate feedback from guests to improve the booking process and guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in guest booking, talent coordination, or a related role in the media industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Newsroom Computer System
- Excellent Fluency in english both written and spoken . Other languages proficiency will be appreciated
- Proficiency with booking software and databases, as well as basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Established network of contacts within the industry.
- Experience in television, radio, or digital media environments.
- Knowledge of current events, pop culture, and industry trends.
- Ability to think creatively and identify unique and engaging guest opportunities.
