Overview:

A Video Editor is responsible for assembling raw footage into a finished product that aligns with the vision and requirements of the producer or journalistt. They work closely with producers, directors, journalists and other team members to create compelling and visually appealing stories and video content for various platforms. 

 Roles and Responsibilities:

• Review and organize raw footage to identify the best shots and sequences for editing.
• Edit video footage to create a cohesive and engaging story, incorporating music, sound effects, graphics, and visual effects as needed. 
• Collaborate with producers and directors to understand the vision and requirements for each video project. 
• Ensure that the final product meets technical specifications and quality standards for broadcast or digital distribution. 
• Use editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve to edit and enhance video content. 
• Manage and maintain video files, assets, and project timelines to ensure efficient workflow and project delivery. 
• Ability to work in tight deadlines for an all-news TV channel.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in video editing and post-production techniques. 
• Adapt to feedback and make revisions to video content based on input from clients, producers, or directors. 
• Collaborate with other team members, such as graphic designers and animators, to integrate visual effects and motion graphics into video projects. To enhance the storytelling.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English
• Bachelor’s degree in film and Video Production, Video Editing
• 3+ years of experience in video editing, with proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, and Davinci Resolve 
• Ability to use software such as Adobe Photoshop and After Effects an asset.
• Media management and organizational skills
• Creative and artistic vision with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
• Strong technical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a all-news tv Channel
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and clients. 
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in video editing and post-production.
• Ability to adapt to feedback and make revisions to video content based on input from clients or directors. 
• A strong portfolio showcasing previous work in video editing and post-production.
