The Public Diplomacy and Press Officer in our International Organization has a key role in the organization’s Political team. They are responsible for planning and maintaining the organization’s favorable public image, act as a link between the organization and the media and responsible to deliver the right messages to target audiences. Full time and on-site
Principal tasks and responsibilities:
- Plan publicity strategies and social campaigns;
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners and collaborators;
- Organize events in related fields (such as interviews, press conferences, ceremonies), source speakers and seek out cooperation opportunities;
- Ensure the flawless execution of the program on site, addressing any challenges that may arise;
- Provide logistical and technical support to local and foreign visitors, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience throughout the event;
- Coordinate and arrange meetings with government and private organizations;
- Act as primary contact to vendors to ensure cost-effective services during events;
- Build, expand and maintain a strong network of contacts in the main national media channels;
- Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs in spheres of culture, art and influencers;
- Create content for social media on regular basis;
- Write/edit articles/op-eds/speeches/press releases for publication in the national media and public events;
- Possess connections and understanding in operations of civil society and NGO’s ;
- Deal with enquiries from the public, press, and related organizations;
- Additional tasks as part of the PD and administrative teams.
Qualifications:
- Higher education degree, following fields can be of advantage: Communication and media, Journalism, Marketing, Social sciences;
- Language skills: A native level of Azerbaijani; Excellent level of English: writing, reading and speaking; Russian language is desirable;
- Experience in working with international organizations, promotion and communication;
- Knowledge and understanding of the national political and social systems;
- Good knowledge of graphic design; photo and video editing and content creation;
- High level of knowledge in maintaining active social media accounts (X, FB, Instagram);
- Good knowledge of working with AI platforms.
