On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Lead Structural Engineer

A large industrial organization delivering complex metallurgical and heavy industrial projects is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to take full responsibility for the structural design scope of a major HBI / DRI-related project.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the discipline authority for all structural engineering aspects of the project
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of structural engineers and designers
• Review and approve the design of complex industrial structures (high-bay buildings, equipment support structures, pipe racks, foundations)
• Oversee advanced structural analysis considering seismic, dynamic, high-temperature, and heavy equipment loads
• Ensure compliance with international and local structural codes and standards (AISC, ACI, Eurocodes, ASCE 7)
• Direct foundation design (shallow and deep foundations) based on geotechnical data
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, piping, and process engineering teams
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
• 7–14 years of experience in structural engineering within heavy industrial or EPC/EPCM projects
• Mandatory experience in minerals, metals, or DRI/HBI facilities
• Proven experience leading a structural discipline or team
• Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ETABS)
• Solid knowledge of steel and concrete design for industrial facilities
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is an advantage
• Fluent English is mandatory; Azerbaijani, Russian, or Chinese is a plus
