SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION

  • Position to report : Head of Subsurface Geological Operations

JOB DIMENSIONS

  • Absheron Early Production Scheme (EPS) is an early development phase with a production plateau at 1.5 bcma of gas (production started in 3rd of July, 2023). EPS Project technical data: production from 1 subsea well, 34km multiphase flowline, dedicated new platform installed at Oil Rocks field.
  • Absheron Full field development studies are progressing in pre-FEED stage with an objective to produce around 4.5 bcma of gas from 3 subsea wells (First gas planned in 2029 while drilling expected to start in 2026).
  • JOCAP Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum is a Company created in March 2018, which is the Operator of Absheron from August 2018. JOCAP is owned by SOCAR (35%), TotalEnergies (35%) and ADNOC (30%).
  • Reference agreements are PSA, JOA and addendums.

ACTIVITIES

  • Participate in drawing up geological operating procedures and ensure their compliance.
  • Ensure application of wellsite standard procedures for data acquisition.
  • Ensure the availability of the required equipment through the various contractors to carry out the necessary measurements by performing on-site pre-job meetings.
  • For the defined data acquisition program, supervise and guarantee the quality of data and geological measurements acquired while drilling provided by the various contractors (Mudlogging, LWD, Wireline logging, coring).
  • Interpret geological data while drilling from shows and cuttings up to logs (wireline, LWD), to optimise operational decisions.
  • Prepare all pertinent reporting on well operations and formation evaluation including “Daily Geological reports” and “Final
  • Geological Well Report”, describing the main geological results of the well.
  • Ensure the proper application of the data acquisition contracts and verifies the resulting job tickets.
  • Coach and assess Contractor personnel when required.

  • Know responsibilities to environmental issues in the work areas

  • As such his duties and areas of authority are:
  • Follow HSE instructions given by Managers and supervisory personnel
  • Assure of the safety of his work site before commencing work
  • Take the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger
  • Exercise such caution as is necessary to avoid danger to persons and installations or to avoid pollution
  • Use tools, equipment and their safeguards correctly
  • Use the provided means of personal protection correctly
  • Leave the workplace behind correct and orderly, upon job completion – enforce the Company Clean Desk policy
  • Report any anomaly, abnormal conditions and near miss to supervisor
  • Participate actively in HSE meetings, safety talks, tool boxes, training sessions and drills
  • Co-operate actively in the execution of the HSE plans
  • Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist the WSG Representative of Geology and Sub-surface discipline at drilling site.
  • Supervise of Contracted staff (Mudlogging, wireline logging crew, LWD crew)
  • Guarantee the pertinence, reliability and quality of data and geological measurements acquired while drilling and contribute to the safety of operations through real-time detection of geological and downhole conditions that could have an adverse effect on drilling.
  • Respect the JOCAP Code of Conduct and Maintain ethical culture at the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology.
  • New graduates or up to 3 years of experience in Geology.
  • Good working knowledge of English language.
