Job responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to Khazar Engineering’s Engineering Manager
• Ensures that all design and engineering work is performed in accordance with Khazar Engineering and Client procedures.
• Plans and coordinates the implementation of engineering projects in liaison with the Project Delivery Manager and the Project Managers.
• Plans and coordinates the input of engineering services into multi-discipline projects with the Project Delivery Manager and the Project Managers.
• Responsible for ensuring the timely production and close-out of design deliverables and their integration with the requirements of procurement, construction, operations and regulatory bodies.
• Ensures implementation of all HSSE requirements in the design process.
• Organizes and motivates a multi-discipline team of specialist engineers and designers to deliver the design according to the schedule, safety and environmental policies and within the project budget.
• Leadership and mentoring of Khazar Engineering’s Design Team to deliver maximum synergy benefit to the Project activities.
• Encourages the Design Team to work with a challenging attitude to provide a cost effective and innovative design consistent with these policies.
• Carries out regular performance reviews of the key engineering personnel and mentors same persons to ensure their professional development is on track and is aligned with Khazar Engineering requirements.
• Ensures lessons learnt from past projects are captured in the Engineering Plan, and that written plans and requirements are translated into action.
• Ensures QA and QC requirements are delivered throughout the design phase of the Project, and that technical integrity is assured.
• Submits regular reports to Khazar Engineering Project Delivery Manager and Project Manager regarding all aspects of Design Team performance.
• Ensures the care, custody and control of all engineering documents.
• Identifies and monitors engineering KPIs for the Project.
• Periodically reviews Khazar Engineering’s procedures to ensure their effectiveness and that they are up-to-date.
• Carries out and/or organizes audits on Suppliers and Subcontractors, as required, in accordance with Khazar Engineering requirements.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years working in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and/or related industries.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience at Engineering Manager level within similar organisation to Khazar Engineering.
• Degree qualified in suitable technical/engineering discipline.
