Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate electrical design activities across multiple projects.
- Produce and review electrical deliverables including:
- Single line diagrams, wiring/termination diagrams, cable schedules
- Lighting, earthing, and small power layouts
- Electrical equipment and installation drawings
- Develop and maintain electrical models for cable routing, equipment placement, and clash detection.
- Integrate electrical models with other disciplines (piping, structural, instrumentation) in platforms such as SmartPlant 3D, AVEVA PDMS/E3D, or equivalent.
- Develop and prepare all necessary design drawings, (i.e. SLD, Block Diagrams, Cable tray routing, cable schedule, Lighting layouts) job cards and ITPs documentation in association with the Lead Discipline Designer and Discipline engineer.
- Assist in the preparation of all project related equipment and materials procurement documentation.
- Carry out inspections as required of onshore procured materials and fabricated items.
- Generate deliverables directly from 3D models where applicable.
- Participate in model reviews and provide constructability feedback.
- Ensure compliance with international codes, project specifications, and client SoW/SoR.
- Support site surveys, inspections, and as-built updates into deliverables.
- Mentor and guide junior designers in modeling practices.
- Ensure HSSE requirements are embedded in all design outputs.
Accountabilities
- Reports to the Engineering Manager.
- Provides design leadership within the electrical discipline.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical design for oil and gas projects.
- Strong background in CAD type environment
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SmartPlant 3D, AVEVA PDMS/E3D, Navisworks).
- Proven ability to prepare and check complex electrical design deliverables.
- Familiarity with international design standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, etc.).
- Experience with multidisciplinary 3D model integration and clash resolution.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Design (or equivalent experience).
