About the role:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Demi Chef de Partie (DCDP) supports the Chef de Partie in managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring food preparation, cooking, and presentation meet company standards. The role focuses on maintaining quality, hygiene, and efficiency while developing culinary skills and supporting the kitchen brigade in line with HACCP and company policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within the assigned section.
- Follow standard recipes, portion control, and plating guidelines.
- Ensure mise en place (MEP) is prepared and maintained according to business needs.
- Support smooth kitchen operations during service periods.
- Comply fully with company policies and procedures.
- Follow kitchen systems and instructions from the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie.
- Adhere to all in-store security procedures and operational guidelines.
- Ensure implementation of kitchen standards and SOPs at all times.
- Understand that management may modify or extend duties as required.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene in compliance with HACCP regulations.
- Follow all food safety practices including proper storage, labeling, cooking, and reheating.
- Ensure all prepared food is properly labeled and dated before storage.
- Apply the “clean as you go” policy to maintain a clean and safe workstation.
- Follow personal hygiene and health & safety policies at all times
- Support the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned section.
- Assist in supervising and guiding Commis Chefs when required.
- Work closely with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain strong teamwork and communication within the kitchen brigade.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards.
- Monitor food preparation and assist in maintaining consistency.
- Respond quickly to service demands and changes in orders.
- Use kitchen equipment properly and safely as instructed.
- Clean and maintain kitchen tools and equipment regularly.
- Handle cleaning chemicals according to safety and HACCP guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately to supervisors.
- Receive feedback from supervisors and implement improvements.
- Actively learn and develop culinary skills and knowledge.
- Assist in training new or junior kitchen staff when required.
- Engage with guests professionally if required, following company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisors.
- Support other kitchen sections during busy operations.
- Adapt to operational changes and business needs.
- Understand that management reserves the right to modify or extend responsibilities as needed, based on operational requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery preferred
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a professional kitchen
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
